The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Jabi in Abuja recently hosted a Skin Cancer awareness campaign, targeting members of the Albinism Association of Nigeria (FCT Chapter) and the general public. The event, tagged “Shade the Sun Skin Cancer Awareness Campaign”, was a collaborative effort between the National Institute for Cancer Research and Treatment (NICRAT), Nigerian Association of Dermatologists, and the Albinism Association of Nigeria (FCT Chapter).
Representing the Mandate Secretary, Health Service and Environmental Secretariat, Dr. Adedolapo Fawase, was Dr. Adeyemi Olubumi, Head of the Non-Communicable Disease Unit. The campaign aimed to
educate attendees on preventive strategies against sunburn and skin cancer, and offer screening opportunities for participants.
