Today marks a major milestone in our ongoing mission to protect our children and eliminate malaria across the Federal Capital Territory.
The 2026 Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) Campaign has officially been flagged off at L.E.A. Primary School, Durumi II.
The high-profile launch was led by Dr. Dolapo Fasawe Mandate Secretary, Health Services & Environment Secretariat alongside Dr. Teresa Nwachuku Director, Public Health Department, our dedicated development partners, local stakeholders, and community leaders.
As the rainy season hits its peak, the risk of malaria transmission spikes. Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention is a safe, highly effective preventative treatment given to eligible children to keep them safe from severe malaria infections during these high-risk months.
Our trained community health workers and mobilizers are deploying across designated communities in the FCT. They will be distributing these life-saving preventative treatments right to your neighborhoods.
We cannot do this alone! We urge all parents, guardians, and traditional leaders to welcome our health teams, support the distribution, and help us ensure no eligible child is left behind. Let’s work together to create a healthier, malaria-free FCT.
