Dr. Adedolapo Fawase, Mandate Secretary Health Service and Environment Secretariat, was represented by Dr. Adeyemi Olubumi, Head of Non-Communicable Disease Unit, Public Health Department, at the International Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Awareness Day at Rockview Hotel on March 4th.
The event, hosted with the International Papillomavirus Society, had a theme focused on transdisciplinary papillomavirus research in Nigeria. Notable attendees included the chair person of the day, Her Excellency Dr. Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu President Elect, Union for International Cancer Control (UICC),Prof Ladipo, Prof Morhason Bello, and reps from various NGOs and health organizations. The focus was on cervical cancer prevention, promoting HPV vaccine uptake, enrollment, management and supportive care for patients diagnosed with cervical cancer and other related cancers.
