
In a decisive move to combat Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) and safeguard the health of school-aged children and local communities, The FCT Health Services and Environment Secretariat’s Public Health Department through it’s Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) unit, has successfully concluded a two-day intensive planning meeting ahead of the 2026 Schistosomiasis Annual Mass Administration of Medicines (MAM) across the six Area Councils.
The high-level planning meeting, which took place from Monday, 15th to Tuesday, 16th June 2026,at the Habor Hotel and Suites in Durumi Area 1, Garki-Abuja.
It brought together key health officials, implementing partners, educational stakeholders, and community representatives to harmonize implementation frameworks, validate targets in a unified roadmap to scale up treatment and eliminate the parasitic disease within the territory.
